Dear John,
Your post was so perfect. I’ve been in a detached yet clearly disappo8inted place during and after this election. My detachment was confusing and I judged myself for being in that state. Was it apathy? I knew it wasn’t that yet I still wondered. I felt myself an observer of the bigger picture, of the passage of time that will reveals the true picture to those who care to see. Yet it wasn’t about waiting for time to show everyone that their claims and promises for change depended on wholeness, working together. Thank you for reminding me, again, that it starts with me, remembering, and being, my wholeness

John, This is the most profound sharing from you to date. It was just what the doctor ordered and it confirmed for me that you are indeed a master teacher. I will re-listen to it often, especially when I find myself battling with my shadow, as I did today. Thank you for explaining so well the greatest love story ever told, falling in love with all of me. That’s a love worth choosing. Blessings.

Good one,
Thoughts actually mean very little. They are maeningless and inconsequential.
You can observe your thoughts but not in a way where you actually care what your thoughts are ! And your thoughts certainly arent “magic” like the new agers say.
The new age people are trying to use thoughts to manipulate their feelings. They use self talking like “i’m a good person, i’m a good person”
That type of self talking is atually very close to being insane.
You can also use thoughts as in speach to manipulate other peoples feelings, good or bad. it’s called gossip.
As you pointed out “awareness” is not self referential in any way.
It is a level of understanding beyond the self.
The bottom line with the new ages is this:
They have damaged egos.
Damaged egos cause pain. just like if you drop a brick on you foot you end up with a damaged foot and that painfull foot is going to occupy nearly all of you mental space until it stops hurting. The poor new age people have painfull self. so they think about themselves and their our paifull self referential thoughts constantly. They discover if they change their thoughts to “i’m a good person, i’m a good person” then their pain goes away temporarily. the whole thing is very sad. Not onnly is it not spiritual it is actually as you have pointed out exactly the oposite thing as spirituality.

Thank you John for your clear understanding of the Law of Attraction. I share the same perspective exactly, although I explain it in a perhaps a slightly different way in my latest book, pointing out that karma has to be taken into consideration by the creator (I know, karma doesn’t exist either but for the sake of teaching, I use the term). That is to say, all aspects we’ve created historically need to be loved and accepted before true creatorship can be experienced. Realizing this has helped me tremendously in letting go of frustration over still not seeing things show up that I’ve imagined for a long time.

I do want to add that Abraham also shares your perspective. I attended the Hicks seminar in Nov. ’09 in Atlanta, and have listened to the unedited cds at least 25 times and it is becoming clearer each time I do that Abraham is telling people they have to become that which they want to experience. As they put it, unconditional love is the only thing that will allow our world to look like what we say we truly want.

I think it is probably “The Secret” that has contributed to the current mass consciousness perspective on using thought to create. I’ve also heard Abraham criticize some of what Rhonda Byrnes shared in her book. So anyway, I truly appreciate your wisdom. Keep on offering it, for it is indeed having an affect on the mass consciousness.

Another great piece, John. I have noticed that as I regard my life as being whole and complete rather than identifying with what I can pull in or push away, whether it be more money, love, or even enlightenment or less hassle, upset or problems in my life, the less the so-called “law of attraction/repulsion” keeps me trapped in the delusion that a focus on more/less is a path to being whole and complete.
